In the article titled "Women-The New Breadwinners" it says that a woman can make enough money on her own to support her family. I have read personal stories and talked to people who have experienced this. I have also experienced this myself.
Role Reversals in America prove this point. In Gresham Oregon Jill Kennel works while her husband stays at home. This woman works and earns enough money for her husband to cook and clean. She has also raised two children, both of which are grown now. Kim Spight, a forty year old FedEx sales manager, has a twenty two year old daughter. She is a single mother who manages a twelve person sales team. She has earned enough money on her own to support her and her daughter.
My personal life also proves this point. For example my mother has earned enough money to raise our family. My father is a stay at home dad who cooks, cleans, and takes care of the yard. My mother has also raised my two brothers on her fixed income. Another example of this would be my grandmother. She has been the sole breadwinner of her immediate family most of her life. My grandfather had a low paying job at a mechanics shop just to have a little extra spending money, My grandmother, on the other hand ,was an English professor at a college.
Here evidence has been provided to prove that a woman can support her family alone. If you were depending on a single woman to take care of you wouldn't you want her to make enough money to do that?
I agree, there is no reason why a woman can't be the sole bread winner.
ReplyDeleteYou make a good point, However next time try to make your experiences more realistic.
